Fetterbush grows best in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 7b through 9. Plant the shrubs in partial shade in moist soil. Fetterbush won't tolerate standing water, so be sure to plant it in well-draining soil. On the other hand, care of fetterbush requires regular and generous irrigation.
